Photo Contest Concludes Record-Setting Year
For Tauck Bridges Family Trips

2007 Plans, Photo Contest Winners Announced

NORWALK, CT (September 26, 2006) Tauck World Discovery is celebrating the most successful year yet for its Tauck Bridges family itineraries by announcing the winners of its first-ever Bridges photo contest. Tauck is also unveiling its 2007 family itineraries this week as it mails its new Bridges brochure to agents and the public.

“Our Bridges programs had their best year ever in 2006,” said company President/CEO Robin Tauck. “We enjoyed double-digit growth this year and we launched our new family safari in Tanzania, which sold out almost immediately. We also saw especially robust growth in our Galapagos cruise, and in our ‘Italia Bella’ program in Italy. Over the past two years sales of our Bridges itineraries have jumped 40%, so it’s clear that we’re delivering extraordinary, memorable travel experiences to families.”

The 2007 brochure being mailed this week will feature the winners of Tauck’s Bridges photo contest, which generated over 1,000 entries from families traveling on Bridges itineraries. The first-place winner of a $5,000 Tauck gift certificate is the Langford family of Mount Pleasant, SC, for a photo showing the family enjoying a gondola ride in Venice. Second-place went to the Porter family of Montreat, NC, for a rafting image captured on Tauck Bridges’ “Alaska: Call of the Wild” itinerary. Third-place went to the Camp family from Silver Spring, MD for their unique reinterpretation of Mount Rushmore taken on the Bridges “Cowboy Country” trip in South Dakota and Wyoming. (Editor’s note: Winning photos available on request.)

NEW AUSTRALIA TRIP ON TAP FOR ’07
The coming year looks to be equally successful for Tauck’s Bridges programs, as preseason bookings are currently 38% ahead of last year at this time. New for 2007 is Tauck’s first-ever Bridges program to Australia. The 12-day “Australia: Kangaroos & Koalas” itinerary (from $3,715 per person, plus air) begins in Sydney with a surf lesson at Bondi Beach and visits to the Taronga Park Zoo and Sydney Aquarium. Families will also spend two nights in the Outback near Ayers Rock, before returning to the coast for three nights at the Kewarra Beach Resort and two nights at the Coconut Beach Rainforest Lodge. The itinerary includes a catamaran excursion and snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef, explorations of Mossman Gorge and Daintree Rainforest, and a visit to a crocodile farm before concluding in Sydney.
