Tauck Announces 2007 North American Itineraries

Pre-Season Sales Up Sharply;

National Parks Especially Popular

NORWALK, CT (November 29, 2006) More than eighty years after Arthur Tauck, Sr. brought six intrepid guests along on a sales trip through New England, the company he founded is still showcasing the must-see sites and little-known wonders of North America to travelers. Whether helping guests uncover the secrets of pinot noir in a Napa Valley winery, explore the legacy of the whaling era on Nantucket Island, or discover the stunning grandeur of the U.S. National Parks, Tauck World Discovery delivers an in-depth experience in each destination that reflects its 82-year history in North America.

For 2007, Tauck will be highlighting North America’s top destinations with 32 itineraries across the continent, from Alaska to the Old South, and from Quebec City to San Diego. Each journey is featured in Tauck’s new “USA & Canada” brochure, which is currently arriving at travel agent offices, and in the homes of past and prospective Tauck travelers.

STRONG PRE-SEASON SALES
Tauck’s pre-season bookings are up in almost every region of North America, resulting in strong double-digit growth overall. Trips in the south, mid-Atlantic, and New England are all up sharply, as are Tauck Bridges’ family trips in Alaska and Hawaii. Tauck’s shorter itineraries are showing especially robust growth, with trips of eight days and less currently 53% ahead of last year at this time.

Tauck’s itineraries in the American West continue to be among their most popular and fastest growing. Besides the obvious appeal of the Parks themselves, Tauck President/CEO Robin Tauck credits the popularity to the expertise of Tauck’s tour directors and the company’s ability to offer in-the-Park accommodations. “The National Parks are incredible, but they’re also a bit daunting; Yellowstone alone covers over 3,000 square miles in three states. Our tour directors average over 10 years with Tauck, and they help our guests to really understand the Parks, and get the most from their visit.”

“What’s more,” added Tauck, “we’re typically staying at the historic inns and lodges right inside the Park, so in the middle of the afternoon, we don’t have to leave the Park to get to a hotel. Staying inside the Park adds a very critical dimension to the experience, and it’s why reservations there are so difficult for people to arrange on their own – many in-the-Park hotels are already booked solid a full year in advance.”

One of Tauck’s most popular itineraries to the National Parks is their 8-day “America’s Canyonlands” trip (from $2,160), which includes overnight stays in Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. Other popular North American itineraries of eight-days or less include “Charleston & Savannah” (from $2,180), “Best of the Canadian Rockies” (from $2,390), and “Canadian Rockies & Glacier National Park” (from $2,795).
