The comprehensive new site has been in development for over a year, and includes features and improvements identified during in-depth research and extensive user testing among Tauck’s customers and the general public. Enhancements to the site include the ability to sort journeys by type, rather than simply by destination. For example, those with limited vacation time can easily identify all the different trips in Tauck’s “A Week In…” series. Visitors to the site can choose from more than 10 trip categories including cruises, U.S. National Parks, premium events, fall foliage journeys, family travel, and best sellers. Site visitors can also continue to sort trips by destination. Tauck has also improved the functionality of the popular “Ask & Share” message boards used by the company’s online community of past and prospective travelers, and enhanced each trip’s itinerary page by adding recommended alternate journeys. Expanded information available for each journey includes an itinerary map, image slideshow, FAQ, travel tips, and more. Besides its expanded features and simplified navigation, the new site also improves Tauck’s rankings in web search engine queries and provides a vastly superior platform for future improvements and enhancements. Tauck began work on the new site over a year ago when it conducted a preliminary usability study among consumers. The company has continued to involve consumers throughout the development of the site, and will include them in follow-up, post-launch research in the coming weeks.
